Jian immigrated to the United States from Shanghai, China in 1995 to pursue a higher education and graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with a bachelor's degree in information technology (I/T) in 2002. Since joining IBM, he has continued taking classes at RIT through RIT's distance learning program, working toward his master's degree in I/T. He will graduate in November 2004. 1995年，
